As summer rolls around, Pokémon GO enthusiasts are gearing up for an exciting event that promises loads of fun and fantastic rewards. The July 2025 Community Day will spotlight Quaxly, the charming Duckling Pokémon, offering trainers a unique opportunity to catch this adorable creature and enhance their gameplay experience. Mark your calendars for Sunday, July 20, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM local time, as this is when the festivities will take place.
Featured Pokémon: Quaxly Takes Center Stage
During the Community Day, trainers can expect to see Quaxly appearing with increased frequency in the wild. This is a golden opportunity to catch multiple Quaxly, and if luck is on your side, you might even stumble upon a Shiny version of this delightful Pokémon.
Evolving Quaxly: Unlocking Special Attacks
One of the most exciting aspects of this Community Day is the exclusive opportunity to evolve Quaxly into Quaxwell and then into Quaquaval. If you evolve Quaxwell between the start of the event and July 27, 2025, at 10:00 PM local time, you will receive a Quaquaval that comes equipped with the powerful Charged Attack, Hydro Cannon.

- Trainer Battles: 80 power
- Gyms and Raids: 90 power
Additionally, starting from the event and continuing onward, Quaquaval will also have access to the Charged Attack Aqua Step, which can enhance your battle strategies.
Aqua Step Details
- Trainer Battles: 55 power and increases Attack by one stage
- Gyms and Raids: 55 power
Special Research for Community Day
For just $1.99 (or the equivalent price in your local currency), trainers can access a Community Day-exclusive Special Research designed specifically for Quaxly. By completing this research, trainers will reap rewards such as:
- Three encounters with Quaxly featuring Delightful Days-themed Special Backgrounds
- Additional encounters with Quaxly
- One Premium Battle Pass
- One Rare Candy XL
- And more exciting prizes!
Be sure to stay updated on when tickets for this Special Research become available. A fantastic feature of this event is the option to purchase and gift tickets to friends with whom you’ve reached a Friendship level of Great Friends or higher. To gift a ticket, simply tap the Special Research ticket in the in-game shop and select the Gift button instead of Buy.
Note: Tickets are nonrefundable, subject to applicable law and the terms set forth in the Terms of Service. Remember, Special Research will not include an in-game medal or a storyline.
Timed Research: Keep the Fun Going
To extend the excitement beyond the official Community Day hours, trainers can look forward to a Timed Research opportunity that will be available for a week post-event. By logging in during the Community Day, trainers will receive tasks that lead to an encounter with a Quaxly that includes a Delightful Days-themed Special Background. Completing these tasks will also increase your chances of encountering a Shiny Quaxly!
Trainers should keep in mind that evolving Quaxwell into Quaquaval during the week following the event will reward them with the Charged Attack Hydro Cannon.
Important: The Timed Research tasks must be completed before Sunday, July 27, 2025, at 10:00 PM local time to claim the rewards.
Event Bonuses: Enhance Your Catching Experience
The Community Day event will feature a variety of bonuses to make catching Pokémon even more rewarding:
- 3× Catch Stardust: Get triple the Stardust for every Pokémon you catch.
- 2× Candy for Catching Pokémon: Enjoy double the Candy for each catch.
- Increased Chance for Candy XL: Trainers level 31 and above will have double the chance to receive Candy XL when catching Pokémon.
- Extended Lure Modules: Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours.
- Extended Incense Duration: Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) activated during the event will also last for three hours.
- Snapshot Surprises: Take a few snapshots during Community Day to receive a surprise reward!
- Additional Special Trade: Trainers can make one extra Special Trade, for a total of three for the day, with trades requiring 50% less Stardust.
Note: While most of these bonuses are active only during the three-hour event, some will remain available until 10:00 PM local time.
Field Research Opportunities
As part of the July Community Day, trainers can participate in themed Field Research. Completing tasks related to catching Quaxly will yield rewards such as Stardust, Great Balls, and additional encounters with Quaxly. Exploring your local community could even lead to Field Research that results in encounters with Quaxly featuring Delightful Days-themed Special Backgrounds.
Pokémon GO Web Store: Ultra Community Day Box
In addition to the in-game offerings, an Ultra Community Day Box will be available for $1.99 (or the equivalent price in your local currency) on the Pokémon GO Web Store. This special box will include five Ultra Balls and one Special Research ticket and will be available starting July 14, 2025, at 10:00 AM PDT.

This map highlights Community Ambassador events and local parks, historically popular gathering spots for trainers during Community Day.
Community Ambassadors are supported by Niantic to host Pokémon GO events in their neighborhoods, making it easier for players to connect and enjoy the game together. If no Community Ambassadors are available near you, consider using Campfire to find other meetups in your area.
