Exciting Updates for Pokémon Masters EX: New Events and Sync Pairs Unveiled
The world of Pokémon Masters EX is continually evolving, with fresh events and features being introduced regularly. In this update, we’ll dive into the latest developments, including new Sync Pairs arriving on the scene and thrilling events set to unfold soon.
A Warm Greeting from the Pokémon Masters EX Team
Hello Trainers! My name is Tetsuya Iguchi, the general producer of Pokémon Masters EX. I’m thrilled to share exciting news about the upcoming features and events that will enhance your gaming experience, particularly focusing on the new Sync Pairs launching at the end of May.
Introducing Neo Champions: Shining Sky-High Sync Moves
Mark your calendars! The event titled "Neo Champions: Shining Sky-High Sync Moves" is set to kick off on May 29, 2025. This event will introduce Elio and Selene as the first Neo Champions hailing from the Alola region. To celebrate their new roles, they are organizing an event designed to energize the Trainers of Pasio.
During this event, both Elio and Selene will appear in their Champion outfits, and for the first time, they will be presented as Master Sync Pairs. Here’s a closer look at their unique abilities:
Elio (Champion) & Necrozma
Elio (Champion) teams up with Necrozma to form a Steel-type Strike Sync Pair, assuming the EX Role of Sprint. One of their standout Passive Skills boosts their Attack by an impressive six stat ranks upon entering battle. However, this power comes with an interesting twist: it increases the amount of Move Gauge slots required for attack moves by one, which compensates for the enhanced strength of their moves.
Additionally, any successful hits from their Pokémon’s moves or Sync Move will automatically count as critical hits, barring certain conditions. Notably, the first time they execute their Sync Move in a battle, they will elevate their team’s Sync Buff by two ranks rather than the usual one.
Their Trainer Move, "Sunward Glory!", is particularly potent as it reduces their Sync Move countdown by two, boosts their Physical Moves ↑ Next effect by two ranks, enhances their Sync Move ↑ Next effect by three ranks, and applies Alola Circle (Physical) to the allied field. Moreover, another Passive Skill amplifies their Physical Moves ↑ Next effect by two ranks and their Sync Move ↑ Next effect by three ranks when an ally activates a circle on the allied field. This enables them to inflict substantial damage through both their Sync Move and Buddy Move, which can be activated following the use of their Sync Move.
Selene (Champion) & Necrozma
On the flip side, Selene (Champion) pairs with Necrozma, forming a Ghost-type Sprint Sync Pair with the EX Role of Field. Their Passive Skills also kick into high gear, elevating their Special Attack by six stat ranks upon entering battle. An intriguing feature of their moves is that if Selene’s Pokémon successfully hits an attack that targets themselves or an ally, all allies become the targets of that attack. Conversely, if they target an opponent, all opponents will be hit.
Their Sync Move similarly targets all opponents without losing power or effectiveness, regardless of how many targets there are. Just like Elio, successful hits from their moves or Sync Move will also count as critical hits under certain conditions. Their "Lunar Moongeist Beam" Buddy Move, typically aimed at one opponent, will instead strike all opponents thanks to their Passive Skill.
Moreover, the power of their Buddy Move remains unaffected even when hitting multiple targets; it ignores any Passive Skills that could diminish its damage and bypasses the target’s Enduring effect. Selene (Champion) & Necrozma thus possess the potential to deliver devastating attacks across the battlefield. Their Trainer Move, "Moonlit Glory!", reduces the Sync Move countdown by two while applying Alola Circle (Special) to the allied field and increasing their Special Moves ↑ Next effect by three ranks. Trainers are encouraged to make the most of this powerful move!
Upcoming Events to Look Forward To
As part of this thrilling update, an Extreme Battle Event titled "Battle Alola’s Best" is set to commence alongside a Special Battle Event called "Take On Elio and Selene." This will give players the opportunity to challenge Elio and Selene in their Champion outfits, adding further excitement to the gameplay experience.
In early June, another Extreme Battle Event, "Say Alola to Pasio’s Best," will launch, allowing players to earn various Move Candy Coins and Roll Cake Coins through completing Missions. Additionally, mid-June will see the arrival of a Legendary Gauntlet and new Missions for the Trainer Gym, encouraging players to collaborate with fellow gym members to tackle these challenges.
App Updates and New Guest Arrivals
Starting May 31, 2025, players will have the chance to invite Iris to the Trainer Lodge as a Guest. To unlock this option, players must team up with Iris & Haxorus, which can be achieved by completing Chapter 9 of the Main Story’s PML Arc. If you haven’t teamed up with them yet, now is the perfect time!
Future Updates on the Horizon
The development team is hard at work on two significant updates scheduled for the end of July. The first update will introduce guide Missions tailored for newcomers to Pokémon Masters EX and those returning after a break. Current players are also welcome to participate, and we encourage everyone to take part to reap various rewards.
The second update will unveil new permanent battle content, characterized by tower-style battles categorized by type. Players will need to employ appropriate Sync Pairs for each battle type as they navigate through increasingly difficult levels. The deeper you venture into the tower, the tougher the battles become, with the final levels presenting extreme challenges. Therefore, assembling powerful Sync Pairs and upgrading their abilities will be crucial to success. There will also be battles that favor physical attacks and others that are more effective with special attacks, meaning that different Sync Pairs will shine in different encounters. Players are urged to enhance their Sync Pairs before tackling this exciting new challenge.
In conjunction with this content release, a new level cap will be introduced, allowing players to further enhance their Sync Pairs. By progressing through this new content, players will also get to experience stories that showcase the daily lives of various Sync Pairs within Pasio, adding depth to the gameplay.
What’s Next?
Stay tuned for our next message, which is slated for late June. In that update, we plan to unveil information about new Sync Pairs and events for July. The team is dedicated to continually refining and improving the Pokémon Masters EX experience, always keeping Trainer feedback at the forefront of our development process.
Thank you for your continued support, and enjoy your adventures in Pokémon Masters EX!
