Exciting News for Pokémon GO: July 2025 Community Day Featuring Quaxly

Pokémon GO continues to surprise and engage its players with a plethora of events and new content. One of the most anticipated events is the upcoming July 2025 Community Day, which will spotlight Quaxly, the beloved Duckling Pokémon. Mark your calendars for Sunday, July 20, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time, as this is a perfect opportunity to catch this special Pokémon and enjoy exclusive in-game bonuses.

Featured Pokémon: Quaxly

During the July Community Day, players can expect to see Quaxly appearing frequently in the wild. This is a golden opportunity for trainers to fill their Pokédex with this charming Pokémon. If you’re fortunate, you might even encounter a Shiny Quaxly, adding a unique addition to your collection. Shiny Pokémon are always a thrill to catch, making this Community Day even more appealing for trainers of all levels.

Evolving Quaxly: Special Charged Attack

One of the exciting aspects of this Community Day is the opportunity to evolve Quaxly into Quaxwell. If you evolve Quaxwell into Quaquaval between the start of the event and July 27, 2025, at 10:00 p.m. local time, you will receive a Quaquaval that knows the powerful Charged Attack Hydro Cannon. This move is particularly beneficial for trainers engaged in battles, as it offers significant power levels:

  • Trainer Battles: Hydro Cannon boasts a power of 80.
  • Gyms and Raids: The power increases to 90, making it a formidable attack in competitive play.

In addition to Hydro Cannon, Quaquaval will also be able to learn a new Charged Attack called Aqua Step, starting with this event. Aqua Step has a power of 55 for both trainer battles and Gyms and raids. Notably, it also boosts Quaquaval’s Attack by one stage, making it a strategic choice during intense battles.

Community Day Exclusive Special Research

For those eager to dive deeper into the Community Day experience, a Special Research task will be available for just $1.99 (or the equivalent in your local currency). This exclusive research will provide players with multiple rewards, including:

  • Three encounters with Quaxly featuring Delightful Days-themed Special Backgrounds.
  • Additional encounters with Quaxly to further enhance your chances of catching this aquatic Pokémon.
  • One Premium Battle Pass to elevate your battling experience.
  • One Rare Candy XL to help power up your Pokémon.

Stay tuned for the ticket availability, as trainers will have the option to purchase and even gift these tickets to friends who have reached a Great Friends level or higher. Gifting tickets is simple: just tap on the Special Research ticket in the in-game shop and select the Gift option.

Timed Research to Celebrate Community Day

To extend the excitement of Community Day, trainers logging in during the event will receive access to Timed Research that lasts for a week after the event. Completing this research will reward players with a chance to encounter a Quaxly that has a Delightful Days-themed Special Background. Plus, if you complete the research tasks, you’ll have an increased chance of encountering Shiny Quaxly.

Remember that the opportunity to evolve Quaxwell into Quaquaval with Hydro Cannon will remain available for a week following the event. However, keep in mind that this Timed Research has an expiration date; tasks must be completed, and rewards claimed by Sunday, July 27, 2025, at 10:00 p.m. local time.

Event Bonuses to Maximize Your Experience

During the Community Day, players will enjoy various bonuses that enhance the gameplay experience:

  • Triple Catch Stardust: This bonus allows you to accumulate more Stardust for catching Pokémon, which is essential for powering up your team.
  • Double Candy for Catching Pokémon: Trainers will receive double the candy, making it easier to evolve and power up Pokémon.
  • Increased Candy XL Chances: For trainers at level 31 and above, there is a doubled chance to receive Candy XL from catching Pokémon, vital for powering up your Pokémon to higher levels.

Furthermore, Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours, and Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) will also last for three hours during the event. Make sure to capture some snapshots during Community Day, as doing so might reveal a delightful surprise!

Additionally, trainers can make one extra Special Trade for a maximum of three trades that day, with trades requiring 50% less Stardust.

Field Research Opportunities

The July Community Day will also introduce themed Field Research tasks. Trainers can catch Quaxly to earn various rewards such as Stardust, Great Balls, and even more encounters with Quaxly. If you venture out into the community, you might stumble upon Field Research tasks leading to encounters with Quaxly that feature Delightful Days-themed Special Backgrounds—if luck is on your side!

Pokémon GO Web Store: Ultra Community Day Box

For those looking to enhance their Community Day experience, an Ultra Community Day Box will be available on the Pokémon GO Web Store for $1.99 (or the local equivalent). This box includes five Ultra Balls and one Special Research ticket, offering great value for trainers eager to catch more Pokémon.

Connecting with Other Trainers

If you’re interested in connecting with fellow trainers during Community Day, be sure to check out the Community Day map. This feature allows you to find local trainers for trading, battling, or joining raids. Community Ambassadors, supported by Niantic, often organize events in various parks, making these locations ideal for gathering with other Pokémon GO enthusiasts.

While these parks are popular spots for trainers to meet, it’s important to be aware of your surroundings and ensure your safety while playing. Niantic does not host or operate official or unofficial events at these locations, so always exercise caution.

Stay informed about upcoming events and updates by following Pokémon GO on social media, opting into push notifications, and subscribing to newsletters. The excitement for the July 2025 Community Day featuring Quaxly is palpable, and it promises to be an unforgettable experience for trainers around the world.
