Pokémon GO enthusiasts, mark your calendars! On May 11, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM local time, the beloved Mouse Pokémon, Pawmi, will take center stage in this month’s Community Day event. This special occasion promises to bring a host of thrilling opportunities for trainers around the globe. Here’s everything you need to know about this exciting event and how you can maximize your experience.
A Spotlight on Pawmi
During the May Community Day, trainers can expect to see Pawmi appearing more frequently in the wild. This is the perfect chance for you to fill your Pokédex and potentially encounter a Shiny Pawmi! The thrill of catching this adorable Pokémon is not just about its appearance; it’s about the unique experiences that come along with it.
Evolving into Pawmot
One of the highlights of this Community Day is the opportunity to evolve Pawmo, the evolution of Pawmi. If you evolve Pawmo into Pawmot from the beginning of the event until May 18, 2025, at 10:00 PM local time, you will receive a Pawmot that knows the powerful Charged Attack, Brick Break. This move is beneficial for both Trainer Battles and Gym raids, with a power rating of 40.
Community Day Special Research
For those eager to dive deeper into the event, Niantic will offer an exclusive Special Research opportunity for just $1.99 (or the equivalent in your local currency). This research is themed around Pawmi and promises several rewards for completion. You can look forward to:
- Three encounters with Pawmi featuring unique Might and Mastery-themed backgrounds.
- Additional Pawmi encounters.
- One Premium Battle Pass.
- One Rare Candy XL.
- And other exciting goodies!
Tickets for the Special Research will go live soon, so be sure to grab yours while they’re available. Furthermore, you can now purchase tickets as gifts for friends with whom you have a Friendship level of Great Friends or higher. Just tap the Special Research ticket in the game’s shop, select the Gift option, and spread the joy of Pokémon hunting!
Timed Research to Enhance Your Experience
After the main Community Day event, trainers will have the chance to continue the excitement with a week-long Timed Research opportunity. Players logging in on Community Day will receive tasks that award encounters with Pawmi that have special themed backgrounds. Completing these tasks also increases your chances of finding a Shiny Pawmi.
Remember, you can evolve Pawmo during this week to obtain a Pawmot that knows Brick Break. However, keep in mind that this Timed Research will expire; all tasks and rewards must be completed by May 18, 2025, at 10:00 PM local time.
Event Bonuses You Won’t Want to Miss
Community Days are known for their generous bonuses, and this one is no exception. Here are some of the special incentives for trainers participating in the May Community Day:
- Limited-time Evolution Requirement: You can evolve Pawmo into Pawmot after walking just 1 km with Pawmo as your buddy.
- Egg Hatch Distance Reduction: Eggs placed in an Incubator during the event will hatch at a quarter of their usual distance.
- Candy Bonuses: Enjoy twice the Candy for catching Pokémon during the event, plus trainers level 31 and above have double the chance to receive Candy XL.
- Extended Lure Module Duration: Lure Modules activated will last for three hours, allowing you to attract Pokémon for longer.
- Incense Duration: Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) will also last for three hours during the event.
- Surprise Snapshots: Take a few snapshots during Community Day for a delightful surprise!
- Additional Special Trade: Trainers can make one additional Special Trade for a maximum of two trades on that day, with trades requiring 50% less Stardust.
While most bonuses are only active during the three-hour window, some will extend from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM local time, enhancing your overall experience.
Engage with Field Research
As part of the May Community Day, themed Field Research will also be available. By catching Pawmi, trainers can earn rewards like Stardust, Great Balls, and additional encounters with Pawmi. Exploring with your community may lead to Field Research tasks that reward encounters with specially themed Pawmi as well.
PokéStop Showcases and Event Bundles
Look out for PokéStop Showcases during the Pawmi Community Day. These showcases can add an extra layer of excitement to your event experience.
Additionally, the Pokémon GO Web Store will offer an Ultra Community Day Box, which includes five Ultra Balls and a Special Research ticket for $1.99. Two special Community Day bundles will also be available in the in-game shop:
- For 1,350 PokéCoins, you’ll get 50 Ultra Balls, five Super Incubators, one Elite Charged TM, and five Lucky Eggs.
- For 480 PokéCoins, you’ll receive 30 Ultra Balls, one Incense, three Super Incubators, and one Lure Module.

This resource helps you find Community Ambassadors hosting events in your area, as well as local parks that are popular gathering spots for trainers. If there are no Ambassadors nearby, check out the Campfire feature to discover other meetups in your vicinity.
While these parks have historically been favored locations for trainers, please remember that Niantic does not officially host events at these sites. Always be aware of your surroundings while playing Pokémon GO.
