Crunchyroll has unveiled the nominees for the eighth edition of its Anime Awards, an event that stands out as the most significant awards ceremony dedicated to celebrating the artistry and craftsmanship of Japanese animation. This program honors a diverse array of creators, musicians, and performers across both streaming platforms and theatrical releases. As part of the experience, fans can now visit the Anime Awards website to cast their votes in various categories, with the complete list of nominees readily available for exploration.
In addition to the nominees, Crunchyroll has announced an exciting lineup of presenters for the live ceremony and the pre-show, which returns to Tokyo for its second year with an enhanced format. During the pre-show, hosts from Crunchyroll, along with global presenters, will announce a variety of fan-favorite awards. The current roster of presenters for the live ceremony and pre-show includes an impressive array of personalities:
Megan Thee Stallion expressed her enthusiasm for the event, saying, "Watching anime is one of my favorite things to do! Kenichiro Yoshida, the Chairman and CEO of Sony Group Corporation, will once again deliver the opening remarks at the live ceremony, which will be hosted by voice actress Sally Amaki and entertainer Jon Kabira. In honor of this year's nominees, Crunchyroll is making a selection of the nominated series available for streaming on AVOD, starting today. Fans who wish to engage with these celebrated shows can access them for free with ads until March 2. The nominated series will be available for viewing on AVOD worldwide, depending on regional availability.
Voting for the Anime Awards is currently open and will continue until January 28 at 7:59 GMT. Fans are encouraged to vote daily, with the new one-click revoting feature making it even easier to support their favorites.
